Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Men's

Where is one to go months after you’ve agreeably staged one of Fall 09′s best collections? If your Alexander McQueen, you do the exactly the opposite of what everyone expects and put together a noticeably smaller production. Keeping with all of the same excitement that you would still get from a runway show, by instead collaborating with photographer David Sims to put together a short film that now explains the already obious concept.
Expanding on this slightly torn and tattered waxed knit sweater seen in his Fall 2009 collection, Alexander McQueen updates the look of his 19th century lovechild with demon barber Sweeny Todd and Jack the Ripper. Though not taking them too far into the future, but settling on present day with mild inspiration from recent years. In the film shot and directed by photographer David Sims, an artist driven to insanity, by what seems to be isolation, finds excitement in clay. Giving off a feeling that you would’ve expected out of a caveman when fire was first discovered, the concept of “fashion deconstruction” is alive and well.
