Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2010 Men’s

Only their second menswear collection at Gianfranco Ferré and their third collection in total for the label, yet Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi have found their selves marking marks that will soon not be erased. Appreciating Ferré’s original work at the house, the designers bring a strong silhouette and a chic believe in what they think in right.

While it countless designers lean more towards the side of trend and what people wear at there current stage in life, it’s slowly becoming apparent that the design duo favors how today’s man views style in the future. Whilst remembering the original start and basis of where his style evolved. Making this one of my favorite shows of the the season so far.

Shorts right where they should be, is what you may be thinking to yourself right now. Raf Simons may not take to well with the concept but, a lengthier short was seen tailored to perfection forming suits and finishing of bold separates. The thought of a full denim suit might leave you worried, but with an unbiased mind – never has something been more perfectly executed.

Though the scarves gathered in the numbers displayed may have thrown me a bit off, the two chainmail pieces that closed the show more that made up for it. What truly amazing work that can created when inspired by past. The 1973 film the “The Day of the Jackal”, that is.

Aquilano and Rimondi are certainly making their marks in both mens and womenswear. This is also one of my favorite collections of the season, so far. SO much to look at, and so much to drool over. I'm a sucker for a sexy pair of trainers/high-tops, so I'm delighted they brought that to the table for the spring season. You couldn't have said it better about the perfectly proportioned/tailored shorts. THIS is my ideal length and what I've been looking for all S/S. Shorts finishing off a suit is just so.. cool. Paired with trainers, creates this luxy-chic, young, modern looking guy who knows what he wants and needs not justify his reasoning for going against the grain by baring leg with a perfectly-tailored suit jacket. Also, the colour palette tickled my fancy. Like this mix of muted and fresher vibrance gives the pieces longevity into dare I say, the fall season. <3[K]

  3. [...] Though it wasn’t the front row, I was more than pleased with my second row seat in the center of the runway. A position that didn’t even exist in last season’s showing. [...]
