Hugo By Hugo Boss Spring 2010 Men’s

In womenswear, Spring runway shows are staged in midst of September, when temperatures are no longer as pleasing as the months before it. As for men, Spring shows are displayed smack-dab in the middle of June. Showing light transparent collarless button-up tops, shorts of a very short variety, and sandals with every look – Bruno Pieters was sure to keep us reminded of the elements surrounding us.
The moment Alexandre Imbert turned the corner, opening the show covered in white from head-to-sandal adorned toe, nothing could have been more refreshing. Bringing about new shapes with his last collection, surly you were not expecting anything less than something to once again fuel your drive for a distinct and clean look.
From start to finish, nothing marked a more pleasant begging to a new year of new designs. Feelings of depression and economic instability nowhere in sight. Miuccia may be pushing for a slightly darker season, but by the looks of it, Pieters isn’t too opposed of the idea of a new way of life in black.
Closing his show with a series of sleeveless suits in the dark hue, feelings of Raf Simon’s last spring showing were instantly brought back. Paired with more forgiving trousers, showing off what will soon become Springs most desirable sandal, a laid back yet style loving man was brought about.
It may still take you some time to warm up to the short short, but as your still going to see it shoved down your throat, it might be time to accept the fact that it is not going anywhere anytime soon. Transparent pants – we’re sill working on.
