Prada Spring 2010 Men’s

Miuccia goes gray…again. What do you get when you combine the classic black & white film and the genius that is Miuccia Prada? A monochromatic collection reminiscent of a newspaper. We may all shudder at the idea of head-to-toe black in the midst of increasing temperatures, but done in light mesh and transparent fabrics, the thought of how to remain cool will be far from mind. Last season when Prada displayed it’s Fall 2009 collection, grey and black served as the main base of it all. Two women’s presentations later, we yet again look at Miuccia’s seemingly two new favorite hues.
Strategic way of selling? Possible. As well all now, a well thought out black/gray is hardly ever able to lose it’s luster.
When Miuccia Prada takes hold of a new trend, it’s only best take her advice. By the looks of it, we all should be expecting to see some mesh, possibly the short-short, and if you haven’t gotten any by now – gray (and lots of it). Unlike the endless studded items showed on last time, Miuccia trades in her studs for mesh. Appearing in hats, cardigans, jackets, and even pants – innovation keys in with the new way of keeping cool, while still being able to keep your clothes on and stick to the essential black.
Designers continue to take there shorts to higher limits, the thigh game currently being played out on the catwalk goes a step further with the introduction of cut-offs. While anyone with eyes and a functioning mind see how that can easily go wrong on the average male, done in a more conservative fabric the cut-off doesn’t seem all too bad. Though I won’t be rushing out to go guy a pair, the cardigans and jackets must be mine.

I still have issued with Muiccia based on her lack of using colored models in her shows. As an influencial and trendsetting brand, inserting different hued models would be a catalyst for all designers worldwide to take note, then act. She`s lucky her collections are fantab, otherwise I wouldn`t be coming back each season (I`d like to think my opinion is as powerful as it came across :p)On to the collection. I will also take one of every cardigan and jacket. The fit is superb, and fit is the most important element. Amazing basics, for those who choose not to follow suit and drench themselves en noir. Ok Miuccia, mesh? I applaud you. Such an innovative and playful way she used mech for all items above the waist. Oh my, JUST noticed the mesh trousers! Brilliant for the S/S season. My favourite look would have to be the black mesh cardigan with the black mesh polo with solid collar underneath, with the mesh pants. The cutoffs are sexy, but won't be a reality until seasons from now.
i really enjoyed prada. But I am a sucker for perforations.
