After diverging into a hardcore, Tron influenced, direction for Fall 2010, Mario Testino shoots Versace newcomers, Marcel Castenmiller and Tomek Szczukiecki, in the house’s latest campaign.

Putting emphasis on the collection’s dominating displays of zipped and woven leather in slimmer fits, straightforward poses with an edgier than normal crop of lengthy-haired guys help to put you in the mindset of Donatella’s draw of inspiration from the upcoming Disney sci-flick.

For their newest ad campaign Prada enlisted the big guns in fashion to make it a great one, and it certainly did the trick.

For Fall 2010, Steven Meisel photographed some of the biggest names in men’s fashion today: Mathias Bergh, Kim Dall’Armi, Mark Cox, and Clément Chabernaud along with a sprinkling of some of the hottest female models. The setting is an old Hollywood club, perfect for the romantic entanglements of the Prada men.

The setting adds a sensual feel to the timeless clothes shown back in January.

Capturing the rich textures of Tillmann Luaterbach’s Fall 2010 collection, photographer Syed Munawir aims his lens in the direction of the skillfully constructed show in Paris, on January 23, 2010.

Making your standard shirt into something more by adding pleats, then pairing it under a jacket with a horizontal cut running across the chest, the show appeared to be styled with an artist in mind. Known to close out Paris Fashion Week with a show that always leaves a lasting impression, Paul Smith presents a sharp, urban, youthful collection with a British rock’n roll influences.

Casting a crop of faces that perfectly embody the attitude we’ve come to love about a Smith showing, the main British influence came to fruition in a display of coats, vests, and pants in the classic red tartan pattern. The youthful spirit came from the pops of bright colors like brilliant blues, pinks, and purples, among others.

To dress up, the Paul Smith man has the choice of a multitude of sharp suits. But because you don’t always want to be in a suit, there were also many louche separates that could get you through the day in a comfortable and stylish day.

Describing the collection as having ’no big theme – just a lot of nice clothes’, the designer did what he does best, turning out on of his greatest collections yet.

If you have any doubts about what to wear for Fall, look to the Paul Smith collection to get your total wardrobe without a hassle.

All about lines this season, shape and easygoing structure defines the, usually scruffy, Maison Martin Margiela man.

No longer found in a police line-up, as the case in Fall 2009, the latest Margiela man can be found dressed in a range of looks that varies from classically checked patterns in wool, segwaying into graphic prints and textured/embellished leather. Nappa leather being a recurring material, appeared in the form of shirts both long and short-sleeved, collared, zipped and buttoned.

Light and ‘natural’ layering being a staple to the Margiela name, wool coats, one with leather inserts as another with checks on the inside, were found shielding belted suit-style jumpsuits and patterned button-ups worn under tubed cummerbund waist knits.

As no Margiela show would be complete without the perfect mix of embellishment or opulence, a pair of gray pailette covered pants speak to Spring 2009′s black leggings, while the show’s closing piece included a black vest with drip-like leather extras.

If you squint your eyes, you just might almost take Vikor & Rolf‘s latest man as your quintessential nerd. Though, he may bare the classic thick rimmed glasses, the Dutch duo channel more of a Clark Kent, as opposed to Steve Urkel.

Striking perfects cords with a live singer playing on a runway printed in paint splatter, the show opened with every intellectuals seemingly favorite look; knits layered upon button-ups, then topped off with micro-patterned jackets, finished with pockets squares formed by loosely tucked silk. Matching the overall silhouette of each individual ensemble with the light and carefree mood lingering about, trousers were shown relaxed, mainly cuffed, loosening up the perfectly precise image of their upper halves.

Wool being the prime fabric used throughout the collection, in both cropped pants and suits, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren also delved largely into knits, leaving plaid to be a key pattern. Appearing colored, large and small, plaid further enhanced you collegiate experience, taking to almost everything at one point or another in the presentation.

Not leaving the splatters on the ground to be a big elephant in the room, paint marks found itself on the leg of a suit, at the top of a shirt (or the bottom, depending on your outlook), and in a black patent form on t-shirt worn under a sparkling striped suit.

Perfect if you want to look sharp in the office or cool in the alpine, Rei Kawakubo made up a showing mainly of four-piece suits; fluid pants, tailored jackets, fastened vests, and shorts. Even if you aren’t the type to wear shorts with your suits, the main pieces are still tailored and nifty enough, completed in interesting, but still wearable fabrics.

Coming in the form of head wraps and lengthy fur coats, or even trailing up the front of a sweater (making for a true contrast placket), fur was another staple of the collection.

Finishing off  the mainly darkened hue show off with pastel colored shoes, rounded like most of the shoulders seen throughout, Kawakubo keep suits traditional yet modern for the waist up, playing with proportion from the waist down. Accenting ties and the undersides of collars with fur.

If you sometimes may find Comme des Garcons to be too extreme for you, looking hard enough you will, for the most part, find something chic and wearable.

After displaying a relaxed and refreshing Spring 2010 collection based around nudes and neutrals, designer Tillmann Lauterbach now takes on a bit more structure. Deconstructing noted basics, building them back up to form something so natural and carefree.

Setting the mood for his latest presentation by having no more than one freckled model on the runway at once, walking to the sound of instrumentals, including the ‘Requiem for a Dream’ theme song played out classically on piano, the designer showcased 27 looks simple to the naked eye, but skillfully thought out once closer. An up and coming designer, Lauterbach already proves to be a master at minimalism. Making your standard shirt into something more by adding pleats, then pairing it under a jacket with a horizontal cut running across the chest, the show appeared to be styled with an artist in mind. Complete with jackets and trousers alike, printed in paint marks. The deconstruction motif also took to the collection’s bags, made to look as if it had been through a quite a few uses, perfectly injecting the show with the feel of the results of what you would get from wearing your favorite pieces time and time again.

Hopping aboard the tucking train, boots were also tucked into boots, much as the running trend this season. Though, the boots now holding your pants when not cropped or cuffed, now laces up to tie in the back. Putting a fresh twist on the classic leather shoe.

With a fresh ideas projected into refreshing and realistic designs, I have a strong feeling that Tillmann Lauterbach is someone to keep an eye on.

For Fall 2010, Elie Saab took the mysterious forest in as his muse and produced a collection that did not disappoint.

The palette featured the colors you would see in a forest on any beautiful night; the green of the leaves, the blue of the water, the purple of the sky. The lace detailing highlighted the conceal/reveal ways of many things in nature, also. If you still aren’t convinced, there was a more straight forward reference to the forest in the form of a print of black branches on a bodysuit created by an off the shoulder ruched top with skinny pants, and many dresses.

Accessorizing looks that came in ruched lace and wool with sheer socks paired finished off with patent heels, and bags with tough yet classic chains, the essence of hard meets soft gleamed throughout the venue. Approaching daywear with the same refined luxurious feel that you are always sure to expect from his showstopping floor sweepers, the Lebanese designer once again reminds us of the importance of dressing-up and how it is still possible to take risks without appearing contrived. A message reiterated time and time again with the showing of cut-outs matched with effortlessly flowing tulle.

Towards the end of the presentation came Saab’s always extremely glamorous gowns, mostly sparklingly embroied and in liquid-like tulle, that would please even the most discerning of women. The slits in the fronts and backs of the dresses are perfect for grabbing attention on their much deserved and destined red carpet endeavors.

Elie Saab truly is a wonderful designer and that shines through when you see him stay faithful to his clients while still putting out a new, cool, and edgy collections for those truly looking for pure eye candy and astonishing quality.
