Taken Backstage at Burberry Fall 2010

Both on exclusive for Burberry in Milan, this season, Danny Arter and Sebastian Brice are begging to make a name for themselves as forces to be reckoned with.

Bearing charm just as fitting as their looks, though the models have not yet completed a full year in the industry, major powerhouses are already knocking, wanting more from the dashing Brits.

Their views of the collection & career, after the jump.

Originally from Croydon (London), Danny Arter is represented by Nevs model management. The top model agency managing the very successful careers of models such as Eddie Tucker, Isaac Carew, and Ty Ogunkoya (among others). With both classic good looks and knowledge beyond bound, just last month, Danny has graced the runways of Burberry, Miharayasuhiro, Yves Saint Laurent, Dunhill, and Lanvin. Walking James Long and JW Anderson this week alone.

Proving model stereotypes wrong with his impeccable continued writing for his school’s sports column.

Were you always interested in the fashion industry and modeling or did it simply happen by chance?

It happened by chance, I only really considered modeling when I got signed. But have really enjoyed everything I have experienced so far.

Did you expect to be walking for a big brand like Burberry?

I had hoped so. I had done a few shows at LFW this season before but wasn’t expecting to get booked direct for Burberry in Milan, but obviously jumped at the chance. It was an amazing experience.

Were you nervous walking for Burberry?

I don’t think so, everything happened far too quickly for me to realize what was going on and the significance of it until after the show had finished.

What did you think of the show?

I liked military theme of the clothing, really wearable designs. I especially liked the long, green coat which was my first look.

Also hailing from the UK, Sebastian Brice comes from Models 1, making his runway debut this season. Though his heart rests in music, Sebastian already has names the likes of Burberry, Lavin, Miharayasuhiro, and Dunhill under his belt. Astonishing, seeing as he has only two months in the industry for two months.

With boyish good looks and a winning personality, it is no surprise that Brice will soon appear in a top high street campaign and another luxury house’s campaign, following his work for Burberry Eyewear and Burberry Black Label.

Before the show, did you know of what a big impact it will have on your career?

However big or small an impact it will have, I felt very lucky to work for such a prestigious company so early on in my career. It was a really cool experience.

What did you think of the fashion industry before and how does that compare to how it really is?

The nearest I got to understand the fashion industry was watching Zoolander.

Did you ever expect to be walking for a big brand like Burberry before?

I got scouted on holiday in Amsterdam with my girlfriend, but before that, it was never something that had crossed my mind.

What did you think of the collection?

There were some very strong, cool looks in the military, aviation and not least rock ‘n’ roll vein that, being a musician myself, that really resonated with me.

Hundreds of models go to the casting, did you have any idea you would get chosen?

As a musician I’m well aware of how big a part luck can play in achieving success, but it’s also very much about networking. The competition between models is comparable to that between musicians- that’s what it’s like in these industries.

Backstage at Jil Sander Fall 2010

Hailing from Elmer Olsen, an internationally renowned modeling agency, launching successful careers like Casey Taylor, Alex Loomans, and Gordie Walker, Welton landed one of the most coveted new-comer spots as a Jil Sander exclusive in Milan. You would be surprised to hear that he is actually originally from Chester in England, he moved to Canada at 12 years old and resides in Kelowna, BC ever since. After much favour from Raf Simons, there is no doubt that this will be the face to watch.

Before you did the show did you know of what a big impact it would have on your career?

No, I had no idea. I knew that Jil Sander was a good show to do, and obviously being exclusive was awesome to get, but I only realised what it might do for my career once I started talking to others about it.

What did you think of the industry before and how does that compare to how it really is?

To be honest, Fashion never really occured to me at all until after I became a model. Before that I was just coming out of my young teenage grunge phase, haha. I mean when I first started modelling, I began to imagine what it would be like to do Fashion Week and such, and what I thought then was definitely not how it actually is. Some parts are a little less glamourous than I first imagined, but definitely as fun as I hoped it would be.

Could you ever see yourself doing something like Jil Sander or becoming a model before?

Not at all, never even crossed my mind that I could ever get into this industry until I was scouted by my wonderful mother agent, Tara, from Elmer Olsen Models.

What did you think of the show?

The music was amazing, definitely downloaded as soon as the show ended. As far as the clothing, definitely my kind of style. I thought the patchwork theme was very cool, especially on the coats and jackets.

Hundreds of models go to a Maida and Rami casting, did you have any idea that you would be chosen as an exclusive?

Haha, don’t forget Niclas (Huntelmann) and James (Smith) were also exclusive for the show. But no, I never thought up until they said yes that they would ever pick me, even after I got optioned for it.

How was it working with Raf Simons?

Working with Raf was an awesome experience, as was working with all of the Jil Sander crew. They’re all an awesome bunch of people, very down-to-earth and very genuine people. Working with Raf was great, simply because you could see everyday that he was passionate about ever decision, such a perfectionist, but at the same time he was a lot of fun, always game for a good laugh. I think the days would have been much longer if it were all work and no fun, gotta have a laugh every once in a while to keep you sane, haha.
