V Magazine #62: Martin Cohn – The Interview

Like Lenz von Johnston, in the current issue of V Magazine, Martin Cohn gives you a glance into his life, through the mag’s V Girls and V Guys feature. Though he lists his occupation as “actor”, Martin can also be considered to be on of the most intriguing models out on the market today. Having shows under his belt that have even required him to wear heels and a body-snug sheath dress (see Elise Øverland Spring 2010).

Yet he still proves to be just as everyone else with a hankering for “True Blood”.

Age: Whatever the script calls for
Occupation: Actor
Hometown: Manhattan
Where do you currently live: West Village
Favorite fashion designers: Zaldy, Pleasure Principle, Rodarte, Christophe Decarnin, Rick Owens, Riccardo Tisci
Current obsessions: Ponyo, True Blood, The Withes of Eastwick
Describe your look: I don’t really think about it as a “look”, I just wear what feels right for me, and what looks good. I know that to most people I can seem extreme or eccentric – but it’s really just me. My hair seems to be a point of interest, but I went blond and that’s that. Blond isn’t crazy or outlandish. And besides, it suits me!
What are your working on? I’m doing a short film in a few weeks that I’m really excited about. It’s going to be fun and I know it’s going to turn out really beautiful. I met the director through a casting, and we got along great. The story is surreal and my character is strange, but other than that, I can’t talk about it. Don’t want to jinx things.

Mark Ronson Caught In Patrik Ervell Spring 2010

He’s only human, right? Dj Mark Ronson may be blazing a path in (almost) anything and everything Gucci Fall 2009, but last night Mark showed us that there is a little more to him than glimmering tuxedos and visage print ties.

If you were thinking that the only things that lie around in Mark Ronson’s closet have Gucci tagged on the inside, there is a good chance that you might want to think again. Seeing as English R&B/pop artist, Mr. Hudson, beat Mark at being the first to wear Gucci Spring 2010 – Mark instead takes the high road and wears another collection hot off of the runway.

At the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards last night, the DJ turned shoe designer wore a meticulously crafted rust stained tuxedo jacket, over a standard button-down in grey oxford cotton, with pants to match. All from New York designer Patrik Ervell’s Spring 2010 collection. Changing the runway’s moccasins to the standard dress shoe, of course (we all know how much of a fan Mark is of making a runway look his own).

If you have not yet taken a look at the genius that is the latest collection by Swedish-born designer Patrik Ervell, the video above should blissfully occupy the next 8 minutes and 43 seconds of your life.

Showcasing a clean a refreshing choice of colors that perfectly represent New York fashion and Spring as a whole, in Ervell’s collection you will find an unconventional beauty in rust stain prints and shirts perfectly smeared with rusted iron.

Chanel Paris-Shanghai Pre-Fall 2010 Exclusives

This is bound to be interesting. Packing up the Chanel posse and jetting off to Shanghai to showcase his Pre-Fall 2010 collection for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld marks the opening of a new boutique in the largest city in China the only way he knows how. By staging a high profile collection and launching a series of exclusives only available in the said area, that is.

Remember a time when Brad Kroenig reigned supreme in the eyes of the great Kaiser? If not, you certainly won’t be looked down upon. Elaborating on his current obsession with French model Baptiste Giabiconi, Lagerfeld shoots Baptiste in exclusive looks from the upcoming collection. Capturing a traditional Chinese sense of dress through the structure and sleekness of wool satin and silk mousseline.

If you were planning to get in a little close-to-last-minute X-Mas shopping on December 3rd, you will most likely want to re-work your schedule. Seeing as the show may or may not be broadcast on, chanel-paris-shanghai.com.
